Do you love to read?
Do you love to learn?
Do you want to learn how to prevent and reverse many death-related diseases?
If you answered yes to any of these, read on!
Last summer, before heading back to Saudi Arabia, we took a trip down to Portland, OR, and spent some time at my all-time favorite bookstore – Powells.
As I walked down the aisle in the Nutrition section this book, “How Not to Die,” reached out and grabbed my attention. I picked it up to thumb through and also noticed it was 50% off – always a bonus.
It looked intriguing, and I recognized the author, Michael Gregor, MD, as the creator of NutritionFacts.org (a favorite web-site that is a fabulous health and nutrition resource). So, into my basket it went.
Fast forward a few months…
I am finally almost finished reading it. Not because I got bored and had to make myself slog through it (ever experience one of those books?), but because I have taken the time to completely absorb everything that is written.
I have learned so much! Specifically:
- How to prevent Alzheimer’s with plant-based foods;
- What common breakfast food will help protect the liver;
- The relationship between food and diabetes 2 and how to prevent or reverse it, and;
- How to make getting a colonoscopy easier, and less painful (is that interesting to anyone besides me??)
That really is just the tip of the iceberg.
There is SO MUCH that was learned!
Although I would love to share every bit of information with you, that just wouldn’t be practical. Instead, I highly recommend you get a copy of this book, get comfortable, and have a pencil and/or highlighter handy to mark and take notes.
What a great way to start the new year!
And now, I’d love to hear from YOU…
What book has changed your life? Or, What book do you find yourself recommending over and over again?
